Chiara Pollio è Ricercatrice a Tempo Determinato di Tipo B in Politica Economica. Insegna Economia e Politica Industriale (Laurea Triennale in Economia) e Development Economics and Emerging Markets (Laurea Magistrale in Economics, Policies and Management for Global Challenges) presso il Dipartimento di Economia e Management e Economia dell’innovazione ed economia comportamentale in ambito socio-sanitario (Laurea Magistrale in Biotecnologie per la Medicina Traslazionale) presso il Dipartimento di Medicina Traslazionale e per la Romagna. Ricopre il ruolo di Vice-Coordinatrice per le Lauree Magistrali presso il Dipartimento di Economia e Management, nonché di Responsabile Erasmus (outgoing) per le sedi del Belgio.

È Fellow Researcher di CiMET (Italy's National University Centre for Applied Economic Studies) attraverso il quale svolge un’intensa attività di networking e di public engagement. È stata visiting researcher presso la Manchester University (UK) e la South China University of technology (Guangzhou, Cina), e visiting lecturer presso la Addis Ababa University (Etiopia). È membro di varie associazioni accademiche in cui ricopre anche cariche: in particolare, è membro della Segreteria Scientifica (SESI) della Società Italiana di Economia e Politica Industriale (SIEPI) e del Council della International Initiative for the Promotion of Political Economy (IIPPE). Ha partecipato come speaker in sessioni plearie e parallele a più di 20 conferenze nazionali e internazionali e nel 2021 ha ricevuto lo Stuart Schweitzer Memorial Prize per giovani ricercatori. Ha partecipato a diversi progetti scientifici internazionali ed è membro dello UNIDO PCP diagnostic roster of experts.

I suoi principali interessi di ricerca coprono i seguenti argomenti: economia dello sviluppo e cambiamento strutturale, politiche industriali, sviluppo e disuguaglianze, economia cinese e altre economie emergenti, reti per la ricerca e trasferimento tecnologico.

Chiara Pollio is Research Fellow (tenure track) in Economic Policy. She teaches Industrial Economics and Policy (Bachelor's Degree in Economics) and Development Economics and Emerging Markets (Master's Degree in Economics, Policies and Management for Global Challenges) at the Department of Economics and Management and Innovation Economics and Behavioral Economics in Socio-Health Care (Master's Degree in Biotechnology for Translational Medicine) at the Department of Translational Medicine and for Romagna. She is Vice-Coordinator for Master's Degrees at the Department of Economics and Management, as well as Erasmus Manager (outgoing students) for Belgium.

She is a Fellow Researcher at CiMET (Italy's National University Centre for Applied Economic Studies) through which she carries out intensive networking and public engagement activities. She has been a visiting researcher at Manchester University (UK) and South China University of technology (Guangzhou, China), and a visiting lecturer at Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia). She is a member of various academic associations in which she also holds positions: in particular, she is a member of the Scientific Secretariat (SESI) of the Italian Society of Economics and Industrial Policy (SIEPI) and of the Council of the International Initiative for the Promotion of Political Economy (IIPPE). She has taken part as a speaker in plenary and parallel sessions at more than 20 national and international conferences and was awarded the Stuart Schweitzer Memorial Prize for young researchers in 2021. She has participated in several international scientific projects and is a member of the UNIDO PCP diagnostic roster of experts.

Her main research interests cover the following topics: development economics and structural change, industrial policies, development and inequality, Chinese economy and other emerging economies, research networks and technology transfer.
